The World Carp Classic 2007- THE biggest event year on year in the carp angling calendar.
For the second consecutive The organisers of the World Carp Classic have secured the mystical Lac d'Orient in the Champagne region of
France and home of the Bulldozer. This year promises to be another battle of the Titans for the title and the £50,000 prize table.
This is a priority invite with a loyalty early bird discount valid until the 31st March pass that date and the price will automatically go to the normal entry fee which a £100 more.
Full details of the event are on the event website at www.worldcarpclassic.com
This includes the newly released photo gallery with photographs going back to 1998, the forum and the new guess the biggest weight competition.
For 2007, The World Carp Classic have been allocated even more space than they had last year. This is great news and to ensure a fair and unparallel event experience they are capping the numbers at
132 places. This is 37 less than last year (the equivalent of 3 entire sections). In addition they are restricting the number of rods to 4 per pair so this will reduce the number of lines in the water by 428. The pegging this year will be done by respected experts on the Orient including
Andy Chambers, Leon Hoogendijk and the French Fishing Federation responsible for the lakes in the Orient.
The 2007 World Carp Classic will start with a fantastic opening ceremony in the tremendous hall (which is now finished) where you will be able to meet fellow anglers from all over the world and soak up the atmosphere of a real carp fest.
The allocation of peg numbers will be done prior at the gala dinner as this is an important part of the event and enjoyed by all competitors.
All anglers that are in areas that are difficult to get to will be provided assistance by local officials and clear direction to where they are located utilising boat transport if required. New for this year will be that all competitors will be able to go to their pegs at their leisure on Monday morning. This will ensure a much more relaxed start to the competition.
Having listened to comments from competitors last year regarding the prize table, the organisers will be providing a winner takes all for the section prizes. This modification in the prize table will also speed up the prize giving.
