Bury Hill Fisheries Fishery Report

  •

Following a very hectic week for the carpers this week, Temple produced its 80th thirty of the year whilst the Old Lake produced a 35lb common and some very hectic sport for one angler who caught 29 fish during his weekend session. Indeed, to get onto Temple’s top 100 list you now need a fish weighing 28lb or over!

Bury Hill Fisheries ReportWith a number of fish coming close to the thirty pound mark this weekend; Tony Mills and Paul Pitchly both came close to catching Temple's 80th thirty of the year with Paul actually taking the honour with Temple's Two Tone which weighed in at 33lb 4oz. Fishing swim 12, Paul fished popped up corn to the island margins catching Two Tone weighing 33lb 4oz and another well know Temple resident, 'The Curve' which weighed 26lb.

Tony Mills was the other angler to come close to grabbing the title catching a cracking 32lb 10oz mirror. Fishing a boilie to the back of the lilies from swim 9, Tony also caught two other mirrors weighing 25lb 2oz and 20lb 6oz during his 24-hour session.

Just missing out on a thirty was Craig Hess who bagged two fish during his session on Temple, a 29lb 15oz mirror known as Italian 2, which had dropped weight during spawning and a 27lb 10oz mirror. Fishing swim 13, Craig caught both his fish on fake corn fished with small pva bags of pellet from the island margins.

Following the capture of a stunning 36lb common the other week, Lewis Game was also unlucky not to bag a thirty this weekend catching a 29lb 14oz mirror, which is also down on weight following spawning. Lewis fished popped up corn, which he dipped in a Cell glug fishing his bait over hemp close to the island margins from swim 4.

Moving onto the Old Lake, Graham Trudgill had an incredible session catching a dozen fish which included two twenties, a 24lb mirror and 22lb common and a cracking 35lb common which is the best fish of the year so far. Fishing peg 38, Graham from Croydon Surrey fished fruit flavoured boilies over mixed pellet out towards the island.

Another angler to score on the Old Lake over the weekend was Ron Ellis who managed 29 fish during his busy 24-hour session. Fishing Squid Liver boilies, Ron fished peg 15 catching off the point of the island. Whilst most of Ron’s fish were mid doubles, Ron’s best fish was a stunning 21lb fully scaled mirror.
