Well things are getting busier. Let’s hope the Easter break brings in plenty of Anglers and lots of fish caught. A 4lb Eel came out to Craig Keating this week plus a lovely 23lb Mirror Carp (Photo Attached). Well done to him. Jamie Johnson returned to Newbarn after a long break and bagged a nice 21lb 2oz Mirror Carp and to top that he wins our catch report lottery Day Ticket, well done. Over the Easter break all juniors new…
Despite some pretty recent grim weather, two more Temple thirties hit the bank at Bury Hill Fisheries this week Regular Robin Ellis bagged his third Temple thirty in as many weeks catching a 30lb 12oz mirror. Fishing swim 4 along the road bank on Wednesday, Robin fished with the now famous glugged corn with a cream pop up to the island margins catching a 30lb 12oz mirror just as he was about to pack up. The other angler to bag…
Well another week of some action. About the same number of Carp out this week as last but seems the smaller fish are hungry so the total weight is down a little. There have been a lot of catches floating biscuit etc. Seems a little early in the year but hey ho, that’s fishing. The silvers have also been coming out in numbers with several anglers reporting good catches from Willow Pool and Island Pool. See the pictures below of…
Following one the coldest starts to the year anyone can remember, the past few weeks have seen a steady flow of thirties reported from both the Old Lake and Temple Lake with yet another Temple thirty reported this weekend.
Robin Ellis was the lucky angler to bag the latest Temple thirty, this time a plump 31lb mirror. Fishing a very similar method to that of Sean Howard who bagged the brace of thirties last week, Robin fished small pieces of chopped up white pop up to the open water in front of peg 10 with no loose feed catching his first Temple fish of the year around mid afternoon. Carrying tag number 141609, this stunning fish which is also…

Bury Hill Fisheries regular, Gavin Cambell braved ice cold conditions at the weekend and was rewarded with a new PB in the shape of 'Shoulders' weighing 31lb 4oz. Fishing peg 24, Gavin fished a single piece of popped up corn on a sinking snowman rig over a bed of crushed hemp and particle mix just short of the right hand margin into approximately 6' of water. With water temperatures just above 3 degree's, Gavin not surprisingly had had no runs…
Temple's first fish of 2009 smashes through thirty pound barrier! Bury Hill regular Mark Savage smashed his PB with a new Temple record, the Italian weighing 36lb 2oz. Bury Hill regular Mark Savage braved freezing conditions on Temple this weekend to bag not only a new PB, but also Temple’s first fish of 2009, a stonking 36lb 2oz mirror known as Italian 1. Fishing peg 4, Mark who had been on the water since Friday fished a number of different…
We were piking at Farlows on Dec 28th 2007 by the ramp. We caught 8 pike but 4 were small jacks. Some fell to float fished trout but most fell for hybrid rubber fish on a sink and draw method. Misty - December 2007
My first time pike fishing was at Loch Tummel in Scotland. Caught a 23 pounder on a mackerel tail injected with smelly fish oil - did the trick obviously. Andrew Gray - June 2008
