The Angling Trust has welcomed the announcement today from Sport England that it has been successful in securing £1.8 million in funding over the next four years for some specific programmes of work to grow angling participation. This year saw an increase of competitors taking part in the Angling Trust British Pike Final on the 20 Foot River, and Glassmoor Bank on Whittlesey AA’s waters with a total of 225 entrants. The Bolton Co-Operative Angling Club has received £10,000 in compensation from a farmer who polluted their coarse fishery in 2010 thanks to the efforts of Fish Legal's expert lawyers. The Angling Trust Cadet, Junior and Intermediate National Championships took place on Saturday 30th June 2012 at Garbolino Lindholme Lakes Fishery, Epworth, Doncaster. This prestigious event saw over 250 youngsters taking part which was an increase on 2011.
