That said this beautifully kept fishery - Partridge Lakes, near Warrington produced a cracking match. Eleven of the thirteen sections were won with over 60 lbs and a quick calculation showed that the average weight…
Another bright, sunny day met the 130 anglers on their first visit to Scunthorpe’s Messingham Sands Fishery complex for the Fish ‘O’ Mania qualifier on Wednesday 30th May 2012. Though weights had held up over recent matches, it was felt by the locals that if the carp could be persuaded to get their heads down and feed that some good weights could come from anywhere on the complex. As it turned out the top five anglers had nearly 800 lb…

With the unsettled weather still affecting sport the outcome of the Fish ‘O’ Mania qualifier at Peatling Lakes, Leicester on Wednesday 2nd May 2012 was always going to be uncertain. However, the sport was very patchy with anglers seeing fish out of reach in the centres of the lakes. In the end it was the smaller lakes which ultimately dominated proceedings. Incredibly…

The weather forecast for the fourth Fish 'O' Mania qualifier at Woodlands View Fishery, Droitwich held on Wednesday 25th April 2012 had been grim at best. The only consolation being that it was pretty accurate for once. Heavy rain greeted the 130 competitors at the draw changing to tropical conditions around the middle of the match, with some hail and strong winds thrown in for good measure. Despite all this the ever reliable Woodlands View still provided some excellent weights…
Following almost two weeks of typical April showery weather, cold easterly winds and the occasional frosty night the fishing was always going to be tough for many fishing the third Fish ‘O’ Mania qualifier at Makins Fishery, Bramcote, Nuneaton on Saturday 21st April 2012. The event utilised all the large open lakes at the fishery so it was no surprise, therefore, to find the fish still generally shoaled up in their “winter quarters”.
